The year usually ends with many minds juggling thoughts of progress, a fresh start, resolutions and the like. Many of us make plans for the next year and season and are usually enthusiastic about making a change.
But as the year progresses, we start to lose focus sometimes and the initial enthusiasm has likely faded, and we fall back into old habits—our inspiring goals unmet.
But the problem isn’t usually a lack of motivation; I have come to realize that the goals we set aren’t grounded in a deeper understanding of our true selves.
Many of us tend to define success and contentment according to external markers rather than our authentic core. We usually seek transformation abstractly rather than doing the inner work necessary to unlock lasting change and that’s how we end up having half-baked results.
In the process of transformation and positive change, what matters most is self-knowledge. Comprehensive personal development addresses all aspects of life holistically, not just trying to fix isolated pieces. It is important to understand that quick fixes don’t lead to meaningful evolution. They just bring temporary change that keeps us in a cycle of hustling to get better.
As we begin 2024, take time to deliberately self-search and truly understand who you are and what God has called, chosen, and assigned you to become. This will give you direction and define the paths you need to take to fulfil your God given purpose.
I personally feel that the new season of 2024 is a bit different from the earlier years and has so much potential to change the trajectory of our lives if we are intentional about creating time and space to do what matters most and prioritize and value what is truly important.
There might hard times and confusing seasons especially being the peak of the recession as prophesied before, but the word has taught to declare a lifting up when men are cast down. That is my testimony this year; I am allowing God to define what is mine and only what he defines is what I’ll see as truth no matter what the world is going through.
I pray that God graces your new year with Peace, Love and Beauty; these are the three words that came to me while closing 2023 and I believe that we shall individually see God’s hand as it manifests these three blessings in our lives. He is the God who makes everything beautiful in His time. May that be your portion this year and much more that God has in store for us.
Happy New Year!
Stay Blessed.
