For quite some time now, I\u2019ve been pondering on the future of our generation, inspired by the things happening in, with and amongst us as a people, especially in line with perspectives, customs, culture, adaptations, and the general way of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Where are we headed? How are we headed there? And why? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the areas that have caught my attention and caused me to somehow draw a step back to build well, consciously and wisely is Relationships \u2026 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Layman\u2019s terms, Relationships are really nothing more than granular communities. The way in which two or more people or groups regard and behave towards each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve realized that whenever we focus on only ourselves, our needs, our wants and desires, the needs of the others in our community get overlooked. When this happens in a relationship, it all begins to fall apart. Self centeredness can not build a relationship, it only focuses on the self rather than accommodating others, and as the saying goes, \u201cthe grass is greener where you water it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the biggest part of this year, I\u2019ve been pondering and musing on questions like;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. \u201cAre we losing the idea of relationship in trying to fulfill our dreams, or in finding our selves, or in trying to find\u00a0 self actualization, or in the quest for self love? \u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. \u201cAre we so preoccupied with work and other forms of engagement that give us a sense of value that we are slowly losing the grip on some of the small things that actually make a big difference in our lives?\u201d\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. \u201cHave we actually forgotten that we don\u2019t really live for ourselves? That we could be sowing seeds whose fruit we should be sure we would want to reap!\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. \u201cDo we even realize that the human body is a perfect example of how much we need each other in life? \u201c<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. \u201cAre we slowly losing our humanity? Do we really know how to handle conflict? Do we genuinely care about one another?\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. \u201d What is the consequence of some or most of the choices we are making today, in time to come?\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Having dreams and setting goals are both incredibly important; however, what\u2019s more important is setting the right goals. We need to understand the difference between the things and individuals in our life who hold value and those that do not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    I marvel, when we become so convinced that we can have fulfilled dreams and goals, without deliberately investing and guarding relationships!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    I marvel, when we be become so convinced that we are too busy to invest in the little details that grow and sustain our social capital!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    I marvel, when we be become so convinced that we can treat each other the way we feel, and forget that our children need to find a better world, a world bigger than even our differences and philosophy! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    I marvel, when we be become so convinced that we can do without each other, that we are better off without one another, that we can function efficiently without each other <\/strong>and without every joint uniquely supplying!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    I marvel, when we become so convinced that it\u2019s okay not to help others, or not to be compassionate, or not to stand with others when they are in their hardest moments or even when the majority is against them, or not to cover the shame of others, or to see the problems, weaknesses or flaws rather than their potential and goodness! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    I marvel! Not because I am a better person, but because when I look at my life, and the people around me, and the generation I am in, I thank God for his mercy, by which we are not consumed. Otherwise, our attitude to life can get better; our adaptations can get better; our perspectives can get better; we can do better than this, because we know better. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Recently I was having a conversation with someone and later on I realized that my father knew the parents of this individual very well: but for all the 12 or more years we\u2019ve known each other, we had no clue that our parents were friends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    To make it more interesting, this person had a very important service that I needed so much and they were willing to help me through the process. Was it a coincidence? I don\u2019t believe so; but what I can say is that it opened my eyes to the fact I should be glad that I didn\u2019t despise or take them for granted, and that my children should have the same blessing in future. But for that to happen, I have to make sure I invest now, both spiritually and in the relationships I have to build now for the sake of the future. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The word of God has already instructed us simply: \u201cDon\u2019t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God\u2019s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect\u2026\u201d Romans 12:2<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Regardless of what is happening in the world, regardless of what Is changing and what\u2019s becoming weird, abnormally okay and largely questionable, May God help us to remain sober.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    May God help us to build right. May God help us to never burn the bridges we may need to cross in future. May God help us to stop looking at people with an untransformed perspective. May God continue to change our way of thinking, that we may bring forth fruit unto righteousness, which is His very nature. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    We can make the remaining part of 2022 worthwhile. We can consciously and wisely invest in our future now. We can prepare for a children and children\u2019s children a better world by starting now, both spiritually and intentional living.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    God will make this happen, for he who calls you is faithful. 1 Thessalonians 5:24<\/p>\n\n\n\n
